D&C: Holy Family in Dansville to Reorganize as Christian School

Today's Democrat and Chronicle carries a story about Dansville's Holy Family School -- slated for closure in June -- which is attempting to reorganize as a Christian K-5 school. Holy Family is outside the control of the centralized Monroe County Catholic Schools system, operating under direct parish management with Diocesan influence.

If they can do this as a Christian School, why can't Holy Trinity rent their school building to an independent school in the Catholic tradition? The diocese is strapping the parish with an empty building and then denying our parish the opportunity to rent the building out to offset the costs(that's in addition to allowing Murphy Hall construction to go ahead when they planned to close the school). The least they should do is make up the income the parish will lose due to their decision not to allow us to rent to an independent school.Once again, they make a decision without any concern for the consequences for those at the parish/school level, unless you are from Pittsford.
