Parents Ask About School Board Role in Closures

Parents are now asking about the role of the Monroe County Catholic Schools Board in the decision to shutter 13 facilities come June. While the task force included multiple board members -- Bill Carpenter, Raymond Diehl, Sr. Elaine Poitras, Darlene Ryan (board chair; pictured), and Rev. Paul Tomasso -- the full board has not yet weighed in on the Bishop's decision, nor has it offered to meet with affected families and students.

They are not going to speak out against the "plan", any more than the pastors of the affected parishes. They serve at the pleasure of the Bishop. It IS interesting that they haven't come out in favor of it either. Maybe their silence is telling us something!
Could it be that they also don't agree with the "plan"?

Is there a way to bring these people out of "hiding" and ask for comments?? It is interesting that one of the Board members is on the Finance Committee--why has she not chimed in. By the way--the top of the DOR website says "Give me "FACTS", give me faith" Hmmm...
